QUEENSTOWN TO MT.COOK The road from Queenstwon to Mt. Cook is very spectacular. Its first attraction is the beautiful Kawarau Gorge, unfortunately with almost no places to stop to take pictures. After reaching a turn-off to Cromwell, the read follows Lake Dunstan and then incredibly spectacular Lindis Valley. Lindis Pass is famous for its semi-arid terrain dotted with tussock grasses. It is particularly impressive in late afternoon providing deep shades and warm colours for beautiful photographs. Lake Dunstan
