The trekking route from Muktinath to Pokhara passing through the spectacular Kali Gandaki Valley is one of the most popular in the Himalayas. There are thousands of trekkers, colourfully dressed (sometimes barefooted) pilgrims and caravans of mules taking this trail and it can be very busy during the tourist season (spring/autumn).

Dhaulagiri (8167 m) or  „White Mountain” is the 13th highest mountain of the world. It was also the first measured 8000 meter   mountain (1818 r.) and for next 30 years was considered to be the world's highest peak. It was conquered on May 13, 1960 - after 13 years of struggling, by 6 members of Swiss expeditions (including two sherpas)
