On the way down along Kali Gandaki Valley, we passed several beautifully located villages and the most interesting one was Marpha, famous for its well maintained and clean, white stone houses and cobbled streets. The very controversial but prosperous and hospitable Takali people inhabit this region The village has also one of the nicest lodges in the country and the best cusine of the trek. Another clean and similar to marpha village - Tukche is famous for Mustang Distillery producing excellent apple brandy. |
