Pokhara is a small town, bautifully located at the bottom of a valley on the shore of Phewa Lake. When the weather is clear, its blue waters reflect the snowy white ranges of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, both higher than magical 8000 m. The most famous of the mountains that can be admired from here is the pyramid-like Machapuchare, a sacred Nepalese peak, still unscaled. Pokhara is a starting point for one of the most popular treks in the Himalayas. |
