Ramze - Oktang - Camp below Lapsang La
Oktang - 4780 m (*4595 m)
The uppermost part of Yalung Valley is extremely spectacular. Kanchenjunga comes to the view 20 minutes after leaving the camp. It takes less then 2 hours to reach a moraine point called Oktang.
Kabru located south of Kangchenjunga is actually a massif with several summits and subsidary peaks over 7000 m
Cairns and preying flags at Oktang - the highest usually visited point at the southern flank of Kangchenjunga. It requires few hours and and crossing crevassed Yalung Glacier to reach the Base Camp from here.
Four peaks of Kangchenjunga - from the left -Yalung Shoulder, then Yalung Kang (8505 m), Kangchenjunga Main (8586 m), Kangchenjunga Central (8482 m) and Kangchenjunga South (8476 m). The last two were first climbed by Polish teams in 1978.
