Mamankhe is one of the most beautiful villages I have ever seen in Nepal. There are several very neat and well maintained thatched houses with wooden balconies hung with flowers that would not seem out of place in Switzerland. The village is inhabited by Limbu people and seem to be very prosperous - the region is much better developed due to traditional trade connections with neighboring Sikkim and many Limbu used to serve in the British army as the famous and brave Gurkha soldiers. |
