KOMODO ISLAND Komodo and and neighbouring island of Rinca were the only places in the world inhabited by impressive and amazing Komodo Dragon or Waranus Comodiensis - the largest predatory lizards. People visiting the island had to change from a large boat operating between Komodo and Sumbawa into a small one that takes them to especially built camp which is also sometimes visited by the Dragons. It was also possible to walk around the island hoping to see lizards but it should had be done with a special care - apparently some people had been already killed or injured on the island.
