"The Lost City of the Inkas"- Machu Picchu surely the landmark of Peru and perhaps the symbol and the most desirable place to go in entire South America. The location of the ruins, on the top of the hill, few hundred metres over raging Urubamba River, with towering Wayana Picchu mountain in the background makes Machu Picchu really unique and incredibly spectacular place. Unfortunately, the place is very popular and during summer thousands of tourists make a trip to the ruins, so probably the best time to visit the ruins is early in the morning before they arrive or late in the afternoon when they leave. |
