Milford Sound Milford Sound is one of the most spectacular of all fiords in Fordland and by far the most popular. The best way to see it is to take a cruise. The cruise I took lasted for 2 1/2 hours and took me all the way to the Tasman sea. I was very lucky as the weather cleared after several days of rain and I had both sunshine and very spectacular waterfalls which are apart from almost vertical cliffs including Mitre Peak, apparently the highest fiord wall in the world, the best attractions of Milford Sound. At the end I decided to see Fiordland from the air and went for a helicopter flight which flew over the fiords and the mountains to Tukuko Glacier for a short landing before flying down to the Chasm.
