Finally, 5 hours from Ghorepani, we reached Kali Gandaki Valley. Due to a shooting a day before the last part of the trail was completely deserted. All the lodges, teahouses and local houses were abandoned. We decided to to go up the valley to Tatopani and its hot springs, but instead we turned left and stay overnight in a local hotel in Ratopani. Next morning we began a long but very beautiful descend to Beni. This part of the trek was a nice surprise as Kali Gandaki creates here a huge and very beautiful canyon. This trail is not very popular and most of the traffic comprises local people, porters and endless caravans of horses and donkeys. It takes 6-7 hours from Tatopani to Beni. Actually the last 4 km from Galeshor to Beni can be travelled by taxi and the road is still being extended towards Baisari. Beni has a niceand friendly Yeti Hotel. When we were there the town was patrolled by soldiers and Police and a curfew was imposed from 7:30 PM. Anyway there is nothing to do in Beni after dark...
