Pangpema (5139 m) is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is a small and flat pasture located just over the Kangchenjunga Glacier where it turns northwards. The view is truly amazing. Kangchenjunga (8586 m), the third highest mountain range in the world, looks majestic and completely inaccessible. To stay in Pangpema one should be well acclimatized and prepared for very low temperatures which can drop down well below -10 degrees C at night in November. It gets really cold there but sunsets are increadibly spectacular. |
